Having been recently presented with the crown as the world’s most profitable property portal, we decided to trawl through Rightmove to find a property that the majority of us mere mortals can only dream of.
The winter might be almost here but to give you some autumn cheer we’ve scrawled Rightmove’s listings to find a dream property with a swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool to be precise!
Of course, for an outdoor swimming pool to be able to be used and enjoyed it needs, ideally, to be located in the south of England, which enjoys considerably better year-round weather. With this in mind, our Rightmove research took us to the sunny county of Sussex, well-known for its big houses and pleasant climate.
More specifically, it brought us to the award-winning village of Milland in the heart of the South Downs. On the outskirts of this idyllic village lies Bobbolds Farm, a beautifully presented five-bedroom estate, centred on an imposing Grade II-listed country home.
The stunning property dates to 1650. It is surrounded by vast grounds, 24 acres to be exact! The house and its various outbuildings, including a barn which has been stylishly refurbished so it provides additional living accommodation, have been renovated to an exceptionally high standard.
A property of such standing simply wouldn’t be complete without its own private swimming pool. To the north of the main house lies the estate’s more formal gardens and, nestled amongst the gardens, is Babbolds Farm’s swimming pool. This large private pool is surrounded by paving, the perfect spot for relaxing and taking in the quintessential Sussex countryside.
After taking a refreshing dip in the pool, owners of this incredible property can go for a ride in the farm’s floodlit, all-weather ménage. Less horsey types can enjoy a game of tennis on the private tennis courts, which lie to the east of the main property.
So, what’s the damage for a property this imposing with its own outdoor swimming pool in the ultra-desirable village of Milland?

Of course, not all properties with their own swimming pools come with a six-figure price tag. Figures from 2016 showed there is approximately 210,00 privately owned outdoor swimming pools in the UK. As long as there is the room externally, properties of all shapes, sizes and price ranges can have a private swimming pool.
Whilst expensive to install and maintain, swimming pools remain a symbol of luxury, and naturally add value to a property.
As for Bobbolds Farm, well a property of that size and stature simply wouldn’t be without a private swimming pool.
